Istanbul Gelisim University Guidance Specialist Pelin Karahancı organized a seminar on “Career Planning and Professions” for the students of Şişli Mehmet Pisak Anatolian High School.

One of the biggest questions in the minds of the students who study with intensive performance during the preparation process for university is “Which department will I prefer?”, and Karahancı gave some tips to the students about the issue, stating that students should be aware of their talents in order to be able to answer this question. Information about what needs to be done for preferring departments depending on the number of students preparing for exams in Turkey every year and the number of students who graduated from the departments every year with the digital data from YÖKATLAS and ÖSYM at the same time. She reminded the words of Head of YÖK Yekta Saraç, which is that students should prefer the professions of the future if the students are particularly suitable for their interests and abilities.

Saying that the choice for the department is an encircling decision that affects one's whole life, Karahancı told the students that the students should be taken into consideration the factors in this direction. Karahancı said: “It is not only important to have a university degree, but also to plan the career, which is adorned with the skills and interests gained by the individual nowadays” and stated that students should analyze themselves first. Karahancı ended the seminar by answering the questions of the students after informing about the professions which are mostly preferred in Turkey.
